How to change the device name of a serial number via the Customer Support Portal

Objective


Provides the steps to change device name for a serial number (SN) on Customer Support Portal (CSP).



Environment


Customer Support Portal (CSP)

Procedure


  • Log into the Support Portal using the account associated with your asset.
  • Navigate to Products > Assets.
  • Locate your device and hover your cursor over the right side of the row. You’ll see a few hidden icons appear—click on Edit Asset.

 

  • In the Asset Attribute table, simply click the pencil icon next to the Asset Name to make your changes.

 

 



Additional Information


Currently, device name changes don’t sync to the Hub automatically. To update them, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the Device Association on the Hub

  2. Rename the devices in the CSP portal

  3. Re-associate the device with the Tenant on the Hub

Once you’ve completed these steps, the Hub will display the updated device name.
