Question


If a Panorama VM is failed to boot up due to an error that requires to perform factory default, how to retrieve the license using the same serial number?

Environment


  • Panorama VM
  • PAN-OS 7.1, 8.1, 9.0


Answer


The following steps can be used to set the VM serial number and retrieve the license:
  1. Enter the original or previous Panorama serial number in Serial Number field under (Panorama > Setup > Management > General Settings).

  1. Then, retrieve the license keys from license server in (Panorama > Licenses).
