Symptom


Pushing 9.0.x onto the Firewalls running 8.1.x produces warning message as shown below:

Details:
. Configuration committed successfully
Warnings:
. Warning: Profile compiler : app http2 not found

Environment


  • All PAN-OS prior to 9.0.x
  • All Hardware and VM Firewalls 

Cause


http2 is a new protocol decoder introduced in the 9.0.x version of the PANOS. As a result, prior versions show warning message.

Resolution


The "http2" is a new protocol decoder introduced in PAN-OS 9.0.x. So there is no workaround to avoid warning message in prior versions of PAN-OS 9.0.x
