Objective

To set the maximum number of Templates per Stack to 16 starting from PAN-OS 8.1.10 and 9.0.4.

Background
  • In PAN-OS 8.0, the maximum Templates per stack is 16. This was reduced to 8 in PAN-OS 8.1.0.
  • Upon customers request, engineering provided a debug command to increase the maximum templates per stack back to 16 starting from PAN-OS 8.1.10 and 9.0.4.

Environment

  • Panorama
  • PAN-OS 8.1.10 and above or 9.0.4 and above.

Procedure

To set the maximum number of templates per stack to 16 run the debug cmd from the CLI below ( Only available on PAN-OS 8.1.10 and 9.0.4 and higher)
> debug management-server template-stack set-max-templates 16

A warning message is displayed as below

For performance reasons, it is recommended to manage up to 8 templates per template stack. Increasing the template count may
result in sluggish responses on the user interface
