Question
What is the difference between the commands:
- debug software disk-usage cleanup deep threshold 90
- debug software disk-usage aggressive-cleaning enable
Environment
- Any PAN-OS.
- Palo Alto Firewall.
Answer
The command "debug software disk-usage cleanup deep threshold <90%-100%>" is not automatically applied and it has to be run manually to bring the disk usage to below 90%. It is designed for platforms when 95% automatic disk clean up is not sufficient to hold TSF generated. It includes cleanup by deleting backup logfiles. If you need this command run periodically, an external periodic script may be invoked.
The command "debug software disk-usage aggressive-cleaning enable" is automatically applied when 95% disk usage is detected and more aggressive cleaning is applied, including removing more backup log files.
Additional Information
Automatic cleaning of disk-space is done only when the disk-space reaches 95% and this 95% is fixed and cannot be currently changed.
