Objective

To view the configuration memory utilization for dataplane slots.

Environment

  • Palo Alto Firewall.
  • Supported PAN-OS

Procedure

  1. The command "debug dataplane show cfg-memstat statistics" displays the configuration memory usage on the dataplane. Example below:
> debug dataplane show cfg-memstat statistics
Policy cache usage threshold = 100%

VSYS Config Allocator Usage   :   24576KB ( 1% of 1520384KB)

Current config memory usage
Misc                          : 1920   KB (Actual 1813   KB; 13 out of 3000 chunks in use)
Custom URL                    : 128    KB (Actual 38     KB; 1 out of 3000 chunks in use)
Global                        : 8832   KB (Actual 8808   KB; 68 out of 3000 chunks in use)
vsys1                         : 768    KB (Actual 419    KB; 3 out of 3000 chunks in use)

Last config memory usage

POLICY CACHE (ACTIVE)         :  157311KB
POLICY CACHE USAGE            :    1280KB ( 0% of  157280KB)
alloc size 32704, max 32704
  1. The Following metric can be referred to for which elements of configuration contribute to which memory usage category:
