How to resolve "System is powering itself down due to missing fan tray" condition

Symptom


PAN-5200 powered down with "System is powering itself down due to missing fan tray." message in system logs.
 

Environment


PA-5220, PA-5250, PA-5260

Cause


If you noticed that "System is powering itself down due to missing fan tray." message in System Logs when powering on the device after an unexpected power down, it shows that  fan tray had been missing for 45 seconds. In such situations PAN-5200 series firewalls power itself down as per design. 
 

Resolution



If you encounter such an issue you can try to reseat the fan trays. If the issue is persistent please contact support.
