Does Azure Cloud support Ping and Traceroute?

Environment


  • Palo Alto VM firewall on Azure Cloud.

Answer


Ping and Traceroute are not supported on Azure Cloud. 

Additional Information


To troubleshoot firewall connectivity in Azure cloud, ping and traceroute cannot be used as it is not supported on Azure. Refer to Microsoft FAQ.
  1. Can I ping my default routers within a VNet?
Ans: No.
  1. Can I use tracert (traceroute) to diagnose connectivity?
Ans: No.
