What is the difference between a Local Log Collector and a Dedicated Log Collector?

  • Log Collector configuration.
  • PAN-OS 8.0 and above.


Answer


A Local Log collector is a panorama device configured as a Log collector and still capable of managing firewalls and other log collectors.
A Dedicated Log Collector is a panorama device that is configured to only collect the logs without having the ability to manage other firewalls or log collectors.
