Objective


This article describes how to create a new service object for use in policies.

Environment


  • PAN-OS


Procedure


  1. On the firewall web interface navigate to  Objects > Services.
  2. Click on Add to bring up the dialog box as seen below.

  1. Configure the new service with Name, Protocol and Destination Port. If needed configure the other values as well.

  1. For TCP or UDP service, configure the timeout values to "Inherit from application" or set the timeout values by using "Override".
  2. Click OK to add the service and commit to apply the configuration.
  3. Now you can reference the newly added service when configuring security policy. In this example TCP-PORT-11 is configured and referenced.
