Device management capacity reached after upgrading Panorama to 8.1

Symptom
After upgrading a Panorama to 8.1, following error message is seen if the device license limit is exceeded.
"The Managed devices on this Panorama instance are more than the device License. Please remove devices or increase the device count capacity"
Environment
- Any Panorama.
- Any Palo Alto Firewalls.
- PAN-OS 8.1 and above.
Cause
Before PAN-OS 8.1, Device count license check was not enforced, This allowed Panorama to manage more devices than allowed by the capacity limit of the license.
Resolution
Upgrade the Panorama license to manage the actual or more number of firewalls or Remove the devices being managed from Panorama until the limit is met.
There is a 180 day grace period till this check is enforced. After 180 days all commits will fail until the limit is met. Refer the following articles for detailed information.
