Symptom

While working on Hyper-V Palo Alto Networks VM-Series, you might run into issues where the hardware level interface statistics are not available.

Environment

Hyper-V Palo Alto Networks VM-Series

Cause

Statistics are not populated due to current Microsoft limitation on Hyper-V. It can become obvious in certain cases where the customer is trying to use SNMP to poll the interface statistics and would see the returned value as zero. This issue is ONLY for Hyper-V Palo Alto Networks VM-Series and it is currently considered a limitation with no workarounds available.

NOTE: Sub-interfaces and tunnel interfaces are not affected by this issue.
