Why is the tunnel interface status showing as Grayed Out on the IPSec tunnel while the status is connected?

Answer
This could happen if the tunnel interface associated with the IPSec tunnel is not assigned to any Virtual Router. For the interface to show its correct status, assign a Virtual Router to the tunnel interface associated with the IPSec tunnel.
NOTE: It does not matter, whether the IPSec tunnel is up or down. If the tunnel interface associated with the IPSec tunnel is not assigned with a Virtual Router, the tunnel interface status will be grayed out.
