  • Is the following system log entry normal for a passive firewall of an HA pair?
2025/01/01 00:00:01 info url-fil ha-sync 0 No synching file to peer because local state is not Active (Passive).

Environment


  • Passive firewall in a Active/Passive pair

Answer


  1. Yes this message is expected. 
  2. On successful backup of the PAN-DB the behavior is to sync the DB with the HA peer.
  3. On the active peer this sync happens, but on the passive the sync doesn't occur since the firewall will not sync from passive to active.
