Global Protect installation fails on Windows download with network resource unavailable

Symptom


  • Installation of a Global Protect client fails
  • Get the following error message "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable"

Environment


  • Global Protect client 5.1.x, 5.2.x and 5.3.x
  • Windows 10 computer

Resolution


  • Navigated to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products, find "GlobalProtect" in the list.
  • Take a backup and delete that entry.
  • Rebooted the machine.
