Symptom

When issuing a commit from the GUI or CLI, all admin users are disconnected.

Cause

The symptom may be caused by NTP updates during a commit. If the clock on the firewall is at a time greater than the actual current time, the timer for administrative access is discarded, as they are no longer trusted, and all admins are disconnected.

Look for messages in the system log (Monitor tab > System) which show a reverse of time:

2013/08/01 10:31:48 info general general 0 Commit job succeeded for user admin
2013/08/01 10:31:28 info ntpd restart 0 NTP restart synchronization performed

Resolution

Check and ensure all configured NTP servers are synchronized.
