Issue

The Global Protect client installation is not taking the destination directory specified in the MSI installer. Instead of being installed in the default directory, C:\Program Files\PaloAltoNetworks\GlobalProtect it is putting all the files directly under C:\

Resolution

The Windows default path is correct (C:\Program Files\) and the Eventvwr is not giving any install errors either. Yet, the GlobalProtect client install log shows the files being installed under C:\.

The workaround to install it into the correct directory is to add some parameters through msiexec:

C:\Users\blabla>msiexec TARGETDIR="C:\Program Files\PaloAltoNetworks" /i GlobalProtect.msi /quiet

This way the GlobalProtect client will install in the specified directory.
