How to Configure IPv6 Static Entry in the Neighbor Cache

Overview

Sometimes an IPv6 neighbor discovery cannot be used for a MAC discovery (if ICMPv6 messages are filtered between two neighbors). In this scenario, static ND entry can be created (IPv6 addresses and corresponding MAC address must be manually entered for each interface).

Steps

1. Go to Network > Interfaces
2. Click on the interface (or subinterface) to configure static neighbor entry
3. Under "Advanced" tab choose "ND Entries" and enter the IPv6 address with the corresponding MAC address, see screenshot below:
   

The new status for this neighbor will be set to STATIC:
