Resolution


Issue

When trying to commit changes around User-ID Agent, the following error:

"Query service status field with error 5: Access is denied"

may appear on machines running Windows operating system.

 

Details

This is related to Windows User Access Restrictions even though the user is properly configured with read/write access for everything related to the User-ID process.

 

Resolution

There are 2 solutions for this:

  1. Disable UAC on the Windows machine.
  2. Stop the User-ID Agent process and re-start it again using the "Run as Administrator" option.
