TFTP Upgrade Instructions
Resolution
- Connect a console cable to the PA device. Use either Hyperterm, Putty, SecureCRT or Teraterm (9600,8,n,1). Power up the PA device.
- Login using the default admin credentials. Enter the configure mode by typing configure, at the # prompt set the device IP, netmask, gateway, and DNS primary server and internal update server.
Use the following CLI commands:
- Set device IP, netmask, and gateway
# set deviceconfig system ip-address netmask default-gateway
- Commit changes:
# commit
- Exit out of the configure mode.
- Set device IP, netmask, and gateway
- Import the PAN-OS to the device:
> tftp import software file PANOS_4000-x.x.x from <IP of tftp server> <enter>
- Install the new PAN-OS:
> request system software upgrade-to file PANOS_4000-x.x.x
- Verify install is complete:
> show jobs processed (verify that install has completed with a fin).
- Reboot device.
- Install the new PAN-OS:
- After the device is back online, login via console and verify that the upgrade and AutoCom was successful.
- Verify the PAN-OS version:
> show system info
