Redistributing routes between OSPF and a default route using IPv6:

Topology example shown above.

When using OSPF for IPv4, we are using OSPFv2.

OSPF has been updated for IPv6 and is now called OSPFv3.

The version of OSPF used isn't strictly determined by the IP version and you can use IPv4 on OSPFV2. The following instructions are for OSPFv3 and IPv6:

  1. Inside of the WebGUI > Network > Virtual Routers > Select a Virtual Router profile, then OSPFv3, enable OSPFv3 and add a default route pointing towards R2(ISP). Also make sure that under the Network > Virtual Router profile > Static Routes > IPv6 that the default route for ::0 is present.
  2. Inside Network > Virtual Router profile > Redistribution Profile , click Add to add a new redistribution profile for static routes and athen go back into Network > Virtual Routers > Virtual Router profile > OSPFv3 > Export Rules  and apply it to OSPFv3.  Please be sure to select "Redist" in the profile.
By default, IPv6 traffic forwarding is disabled.
Be sure to commit these changes when done.

  3. On router R1, enable ipv6 unicast-routing. This command globally enables IPv6 and must be the first IPv6 command executed on the router.

Once the configuration is done you should be able to see the routes on R1.
