How To Create Security Rules Based on URL Categories

Overview

It is possible to create a rule to allow a URL category without needing a URL Profile created.

In the example below, the security rule allows all traffic to the internet for search-engines category. But you can use any category, even custom URL Categories.

Traffic log will display information regarding connections that were allowed and blocked by this rule. URL filtering logs will not log any of the websites that are either allowed/denied by this rule.

Note: The URL Category column is not visible by default, it needs to be added to the policy view first.
