Panorama Commit Error: 'Due to Timeout: Error while communicating with S/N'

Issue

When commiting from Panorama to a managed Palo Alto Networks device, the following error message is shown:

Error while communicating with S/N.

Cause

The commit is timing out during the commit operations.

Resolution

Increase the send/receive timeouts to resolve the issue.

For PAN-OS 5.0.x and later, the default send/receive timeout is 240 seconds with a maximum value of 240 seconds.

How to increase the send/receive timeout values:

1. Log into Panorama
2. Navigate to Panorama > Setup
3. Select the Management tab
4. Click the Edit icon for Panorama Settings
5. Increase the Send Timeout and Receive Timeout values to 240 seconds.

This should give Panorama more time to submit commits and resolve the error message.
