Malformed Request Error when Attempting to Import Certificate

Issue

When attempting to import a certificate, the import fails and the error “Malformed Request” or "Passphrase Invalid input" is displayed.

Cause

The passphrase on the certificate contains special character(s) like & < " $ ' |' ; 

Resolution

• Change the passphrase on the certificate to be at least 6 characters and exclude any special characters.

OR

• Upgrade PAN-OS to 5.0.x or later.
