How to bulk edit action in a security profile

This article explains how to edit action for multiple signatures at once in Antispyware or Vulnerability Protection profile and categories in the URL filtering profile.

Steps

1. Navigate to the profile where an action needs to be modified for the signatures (for e.g. Vulnerability Protection) and select the desired profile. (Objects > Security Profiles > Vulnerability Protection)
2. Go to Exceptions tab and click on "Show All Signatures" in the lower left of that window.
3. Filter the signatures for which action needs to be modified:
   
4. Hover the mouse over the Action tab to get a drop down. Click on the drop down and select "Update Action":
   This will edit the action for filtered signatures only. All other signatures would continue to have the default action.
   
5. Once done, click "Ok" to save the changes.

Notes

• Do not uncheck "Show All signatures" without clicking Ok; otherwise, all changes would be lost and signatures would revert to default action.
• The same steps can be followed for Anti-spyware signatures (Objects > Security Profiles > Anti-Spyware) and editing actions on URL categories under URL filtering profile.
  
• To change action for specific categories, select the categories and then select "Set Selected Actions".
  While to change action for all categories at once without selecting any categories, select "Set All Actions"
