Overview

Before allocating an IP address, the Palo Alto Networks firewall can check whether that IP address is free or already allocated to some other device.

 

Steps

To configure this feature, go to Network > DHCP, click on Add to add a profile for the DHCP server. Enable the option "Ping IP when allocating new IP":

Note:  The device should respond to ping request if it already has that IP address allocated so that firewall can assign

 

other IP address accordingly.
