  • PAN-OS Any
  • Windows-based GlobalProtect Client (Any version)


Resolution


Issue

When connecting to GlobalProtect the status remains in "Discovering Network".

 

Troubleshooting

The "Discovering Network" status can be caused by a number of reasons. In this particular case, it is due to a driver incompatibility. Identify driver incompatibilities by looking in the PanGPS.log collected from GlobalProtect.

After gathering logs, collect the logs by going to File > Collect Log.  See the screenshot below:

If the user is experiencing driver issues, the PanGPS.log fill have entries similar to the following example. Search for "PsvStartEx" or "StartDriver":

Resolution

  1. Uninstall GlobalProtect.
  2. After uninstalling GlobalProtect, delete the GlobalProtect folder located in C:\Program Files\Palo Alto Networks\GlobalProtect.
  3. Reinstall the GlobalProtect software
