SCP Upgrade Instructions
- Connect a console cable to the Palo Alto Networks device. Use either Hyperterm, Putty, SecureCRT or Teraterm (9600,8,n,1). Power up the device.
- Login using the default admin credentials. Enter the configure mode by typing configure, at the # prompt set the device IP, netmask, gateway, and DNS primary server and internal update server.
Use the following CLI commands:
# set deviceconfig system ip-address netmask default-gateway
- Import the PAN-OS to the device:
> scp import software from <username@host:path> <enter>
> request system software upgrade-to file PANOS_4000-x.x.x
> show jobs processed (verify that install has completed with a fin).
- After the device is back online, login through the console and verify that the upgrade and AutoCom was successful.
Verify the PAN-OS version:
> show system info
The output will be similar to the following:
