Overview

This document describes how to configure the Panorama virtual appliance to store logs on a separate disk.

Details

To set up a Logging disk follow the Administrator's guide ( Setting up Panorama as a Virtual Appliance  -> Adding a Virtual Disk )

Palo Alto Networks Administrator's Guide Release 5.0 (English)

Panorama Administrator's Guide 5.1 (English)

Panorama Administrator's Guide 6.0 (English)

After setting up the dedicated log storage disk, configure the Panorama VM as in the example:

01-Settings.PNG.png

There are a few situations where it may be required to set up a new Panorama VM.

For example:

  • Corrupted Panorama VM
  • New Panorama VM with different Memory/CPU allocation settings

It may be possible to keep the Log Storage disk and move the stored logs to the new Panorama.

The steps below describe how to move the stored logs.

  1. Identify the storage disk on the datastore:

  2. Add storage disk to the new Panorama VM:

  3. Start Panorama and login to the CLI.
  4. Check that the log disk is mounted and that the logs are transferred to the newly installed Panorama VM:
