How to forward Data filtering logs to Panorama.

Symptom


Data Filtering logs are not being forwarded to Panorama.

Diagnosis

Data Filtering events are logged locally on the firewall, and Traffic logs are being sent and are available for the firewall in Panorama, yet there are no Data Filtering logs from the firewall in Panorama. Data Filtering logs are part of the Informational severity of the Threat log database. 



Environment


  • Any Panorama in Legacy Mode.
  • PAN-OS 7.1 and below.


Resolution


Turn on Informational Threat log forwarding and the firewall will forward Data Filtering events to Panorama.

 

  1. Using the Web UI go to Objects > Log Forwarding > Log Forwarding Profile > Threat Settings > Panorama. Check Informational, and click OK. .
  1. Commit your changes.
  2. Verify data filtering log events in Panorama.
