Symptom

  • When running the CLI command show system state browser, PAN-OS brings up throughput numbers for the first 20 interfaces, which causes issues on Palo Alto Networks platforms that have more than 20 physical ports.

Environment

  • PAN-OS

Cause

  • This is the default screen of "show system state browser." We can change the behavior with the procedure in the resolution

Resolution

To obtain statistics about higher ports, perform the following steps:

  1. Run the > show system state browser command
    > show system state browser
  2. Click Shift + L combination and select the port_stats option on the screen
  3. When the screen with the port appears, press the space bar. This should bring up a node change window, for example: sys.s1.p20.stats.
  4. Drill down to the port number and change it to the desired port to get throughput information, such as: sys.s1.p24.stats. This should bring the desired port on the screen, as shown below:ChangeScreen.jpg
