Symptom

Symptoms

BGP neighbourship is established between the two peers and Palo Alto Networks firewall is receiving routes from its

e-bgp/I-bgp neighbour. However, the routes get installed only in the Local Rib, but not in the global routing table.

Diagnosis

Make sure you check the 'Install Route' option while configuring BGP.

Resolution

When you configure BGP, by default, the 'Install Route' option is not checked.

We generally miss this configuration and the effect is that routes are present in the Local Rib, but will never get installed in the global routing table till we check the 'Install Route' option.

Select the check box to install BGP routes in the global routing table.

Commit the changes to enable routes learned from one BGP ( e-bgp / i-bgp ) neighbourship get installed in the global routing table.

Thank you.
