How to Delete Active or Expired purchased and Trial Licenses from Firewall

Resolution


Issue
When licenses are about to expire, warning messages are sent. Trial licenses are no exception and will generate alerts when they are close to their expiration (as per below)

XX/29 04:XX:07 crit License for feature GlobalProtect Gateway expired on XX/30

 

Resolution

To delete licenses:

  • List the current installed license files by running the command delete license key ?

> delete license key ?

BrightCloud_URL_Filtering_2012_04_27.key   2012/07/19 08:52:35        0.3K

GlobalProtect_Gateway_2012_04_27.key       2012/07/19 08:52:35        0.3K

GlobalProtect_Portal_2012_04_27.key        2012/07/19 08:52:35        0.3K

Threat_Prevention_2012_04_27.key           2012/07/19 08:52:35        0.3K

<value>                                    File name

 

  • Delete the license key file with the command delete license key <filename>

> delete license key GlobalProtect_Gateway_2012_04_27.key

Note: The Tab key can be used to auto-complete the file name.

  • Confirm deletion by executing the following command, the trial licenses should no longer be listed.

> request license info
