SCP export Error exec request failed on channel 0""

Symptom

While performing an SCP export, the following Issue Error appeared:

exec request failed on channel 0

> scp export logdb to admin@1.1.1.1:/
admin@1.1.1.1's password:
exec request failed on channel 0

Cause

The Palo Alto Networks firewall generates this error if the SCP server is a windows based server that does not interpret unix comands properly.

Resolution

Install a sshd service that is fully unix compatible (eg. freesshd)
