  1. Does Panorama write to the mount point using root?

Answer: The partition requires appropriate permissions so Panorama can read from and write to the partition. This means that user 'nobody' must be allowed to read and write everything on the mounted partition and the "all_squash" must be specified for the NFS export.

  2. Are the logs encrypted on the NFS mount?

    Answer: No

  3. There are 8-10 categories of logs that need to add up to 100% of the disk space. Within each category, is it one file or multiple files based on hour/day/week?

Answer: File size is based on the total number of records written to disk for traffic and threat, and is rolled over to a new file every GMT day.

  4. Can the mount point be backed up to disk and later imported back to Panorama?

Answer: The process should work. However, it has not been tested by our QA and would not be supported if you encounter any issues.

  5. Is only one mount point supported?

    Answer: Yes.

  6. Is there a way to verify if the Panorama storage partition is configured for NFS?

Answer: The storage partition setting can be verified by going to Panorama > Setup > Operations > Storage Partition Setup
