Note: This article applies to Palo Alto Networks customers with a valid Support Portal account.

A display name is associated with any documents, discussions or comments posted in Communities. For privacy, a full email address or first and last name should not be used as a display name.

Update Your Display Name

  1. Log into the Support Portal (https://support.paloaltonetworks.com).
  2. Click your name to display a list of options.

  3. Click My Profile.
  4. Modify your Display Name.
  5. Click 'Save' to save your changes.
  6. Sign in to the Live Community to update all of your posts with your new Display Name.

Note: You may need to restart your web browser in order for the change to become visible to you.

Rules for Live Community Display Names

  • 4-15 alphanumeric characters
  • Uppercase characters are allowed, but they must be transformed (a.k.a. normalized) to all lower case.
  • The only symbols allowed are - (dash) and _ (underscore). No other symbols must be used.
  • Must not begin or end with a symbol.
  • Must not have consecutive symbols.

Note: There are legacy usernames in the system that are not constrained to the above rules. However, the rules will apply the next time the username is updated.
