Question

What does the "client configuration released" system log indicate?

Environment

  • PAN-OS 8.0+
  • GlobalProtect Deployed
  • Endpoint with approved OS

Answer

The "client configuration released" system log is generated for either 2 reasons:
  1. The GlobalProtect endpoint disconnects from the Gateway
  2. The GlobalProtect endpoint connects to a Gateway that has a new configuration available
This is not an error message and is present for informational purposes only for the network administrator.
