Why Does Microsoft Office 365 Installation Failed?

Question
When a host attempts to install Microsoft Office 365, the installation fails. What is the possible reason of failure?
Environment
- Palo Alto Firewall
- PAN-OS 8.1, 9.0, 9.1
- Microsoft Windows OS
Answer
One of the possible reasons for the failure is due to the firewall blocking the installation file to be downloaded. The following logs will show that the file stream.x64.en-us.dat for ms-update gets denied:
Threat log (Monitor > Logs > Threat):
Data Filtering log (Monitor > Logs > Data Filtering):
This indicates that the firewall has the file stream.x64.en-us.dat identified as a CHM(Compiled HTML) file, and the CHM file gets blocked by the File Blocking security profile. So, the resolution is to either not using File Blocking or modify the existing File Blocking profile to allow it.
